What? But I am not

This is a little out of context, since the whole conversation took 15-20 minutes, but I can't help but only remember this as the highlight.

Ms Judy Yuen, CEO of Skinfood Singapore looked at me and highlighted, "You know, your resume looks great and the work you have done at your company is pretty impressive. However, when I looked at you I really don't know if you can market our products that effectively."

"I'm sorry?"

"Well, I looked at your qualifications and your experience and I thought I have to take a look at you before I make a decision. Now I feel we really need females cause they use the products and they are more at ease in this industry. Or unless you are gay."

"What? But I am not."

"Exactly." She gestured at me.

She has a point. Honestly she is a very sharp lady. From the conversation (talking about other industry issues), she really has the business acumen.

Somehow, I am glad she did not offer the post to me.
