I stared up at the clouds and wondered what she is doing now.
“You know, I wish that things were different. It’d be so much better, no?”
Vic looked back at me and asked. “Really? Do you really want that?”
“Wouldn’t us all?”
The clouds started to drift off to the mountains tops and block out the peaks.
“I’m lousy, that’s why she left me, right?”
“That’s not…”
“I know as a good friend and you won’t want to hurt me, wouldn’t you?”
“Well, for that…”
“Yeah.” I stood up and patted my jeans. “We know the answer, don’t we?”
“You know, I wish that things were different. It’d be so much better, no?”
